Hollywood has the Oscars while fashion (and the East coast) have the Costume Institute Gala, i.e., the Met Gala. Every year, models, actors, musicians, designers and artists of all kinds flood New York City draped in couture, ready to honor the Met's exhibit at the Costume Institute. Each year there is a theme, this year I believe the theme is to honor Prada and Schiaparelli as the exhibit is "Schiaparelli & Prada: Impossible Conversations". Anyways, enough background, here's a compilation of some of my favorite looks.
Beyonce- Givenchy Haute Couture (Am I the only one that's just relieved she's not wearing House of Dereon?). I like how daring this is--and that it's definitely only something that Beyonce could ever pull off.
Chanel Iman in Tom Form, with the designer. The dress reminds me of Rodarte circa 2010, but it's still breathtaking nonetheless.
Arizona Muse in Erdem with the designer
Carey Mulligan- custom Prada
Anyways, these are just a few of my favorites, let us know what yours were in case I missed anything great!

I haven't even checked the photos from the Gala yet, but I love the Carey Mulligan dress the best. She looks like a fish, and her hair and make-up are so incredibly pretty.
Beyonce was beautiful!!!!
good selection!
